Chrome, Safari and Firefox each keep their own bookmarks. Bookmer keeps one library, so the pages you save are there whichever browser you open.
Built-in bookmarks are fine for a short list on one computer. They get awkward when you switch browsers, reinstall, or need to share a folder with someone else. Search is limited to titles and URLs.
Bookmer is web-based. The account is independent of the browser. Chrome and Firefox extensions save the page you are on. Safari, Edge and mobile browsers use bookmer.com.
Every major browser can export a Netscape HTML bookmark file. Bookmer imports that file, plus JSON, CSV and Excel. The free plan includes unlimited bookmarks and folders.

It can. Import your Chrome HTML export, then use Bookmer as the library. The Chrome extension saves new pages into that library. Safari and Firefox can use the same account.
Bookmer works in Safari through the website. Your folders are the same ones you use in Chrome or Firefox.
