Terms of Service

These Terms of Service apply to Bookmer, LoginSign and Bookmer ID, together referred to as the Services. The Services are operated by Gabriel Sgroi, Charlottenstr. 47, 73230 Kirchheim unter Teck, Germany. Contact: support@mail.bookmer.com.

1. Scope and Relationship of the Services

Bookmer is a bookmark manager and publishing platform. It lets users collect, organize, search, customize, synchronize and publish links, link collections, folders, profiles, thumbnails, icons, notes, descriptions and related content. LoginSign and Bookmer ID provide the account, authentication, profile, passkey, email verification, OAuth, session and identity layer for Bookmer and connected products.

These terms apply to visitors, registered users, subscribers, organizations, developers, administrators and any person or entity using the Services. If a separate written agreement applies to a specific business or developer use case, that agreement takes precedence only for the covered subject matter.

The Services are globally accessible. Mandatory consumer-protection, privacy and platform rules of the user’s country remain unaffected where they cannot lawfully be excluded.

2. Eligibility, Registration and Accounts

To use account-based features, you must create or use a Bookmer ID / LoginSign account. You must be legally capable of entering into the relevant agreement. Paid services require legal capacity to conclude paid contracts.

You must provide accurate information, keep your email address reachable, and maintain control over your credentials, passkeys, sessions and devices. You are responsible for all activity that occurs through your account unless the activity is caused by a security issue within our responsibility.

Accounts are personal unless a business or team feature expressly allows shared administration. You may not sell, rent, transfer, sublicense or commercially reserve accounts, usernames, aliases or public URLs.

Account recovery may be impossible if you lose access to the registered email address and no other recovery method is available. We may require verification before changing account data, email addresses, ownership information, aliases or security settings.

3. Bookmer Features

The Bookmer product may include, depending on your plan and configuration:

Features can depend on browser support, device capabilities, third-party websites, identity providers, payment services, DNS providers, email services, search engines and app stores. Some features may be experimental, limited, rate-limited or available only to specific users or plans.

4. LoginSign and Bookmer ID Features

LoginSign / Bookmer ID provides login, identity and account infrastructure. It may include magic-link authentication, verification codes, passkeys, OAuth flows, user profiles, profile images, alias email addresses, email forwarding, account switching, developer applications and consent screens.

When a connected application uses Bookmer ID, only the information required for the relevant login, consent or integration flow is provided. You are responsible for checking consent screens and connected applications before authorizing access.

5. User Content, Publishing and Public Visibility

You remain responsible for bookmarks, folders, labels, notes, titles, descriptions, thumbnails, icons, uploads, domains, usernames, public profiles and all other content you store or publish. Public pages can be visited, shared, cached, indexed by search engines, previewed by messengers and archived by third parties.

You must have all rights and permissions required to publish content, use images, use icons, use domains, display trademarks, link to third-party material and make information publicly accessible. You must also provide any legal notices required for your own public content, pages or domains.

External websites linked by users are not controlled by us. We do not guarantee that external links are available, accurate, safe, lawful or free of malware. Links, previews, screenshots, metadata and icons can change or become unavailable.

6. Prohibited Use

You must not use the Services to:

In case of violations, we may remove content, disable links, restrict publishing, suspend features, revoke developer credentials, block aliases, disable forwarding, terminate accounts and take legal action.

7. Fair Use, Rate Limits and Abuse Prevention

Free and paid features are subject to fair use. We may apply rate limits, storage limits, email limits, API limits, export limits, thumbnail generation limits, automation limits or other safeguards to protect the platform and other users.

We may temporarily or permanently restrict behavior that creates unusual load, security risk, spam risk, deliverability risk, excessive public traffic, repeated errors or abuse signals. This applies even if a specific numeric limit is not published.

8. Custom Domains and DNS

If you connect a custom domain, you are responsible for domain ownership, DNS records, renewals, SSL/TLS requirements, public content, landing targets and any legal information required for the domain. DNS changes can take time and may fail because of third-party providers or incorrect configuration.

We may reject, disconnect or disable domains that violate law, impersonate third parties, create phishing or fraud risk, infringe trademarks, harm deliverability or otherwise create legal or operational risk.

9. Developer, OAuth and Integration Terms

Developers using LoginSign, Bookmer ID or related APIs must provide accurate application information, valid redirect URLs, clear user-facing terms and privacy information where required. You may use user data only for the purpose disclosed to the user and authorized by the integration.

You must not request excessive permissions, mislead users, sell authentication data, profile users without a lawful basis, or use connected-account data for advertising, tracking or unrelated purposes. We may suspend or remove integrations that create risk or violate these terms.

10. Subscriptions, Payments and Paid Plans

Bookmer may offer free plans, paid plans, subscriptions, lifetime licenses, promotional offers, business features and add-ons. Prices, billing intervals, included features, renewal terms and cancellation options are shown before purchase or in the relevant account area.

Payments may be processed by third-party providers such as Stripe, PayPal, Apple Pay, Google Pay, app stores or similar services. Their own terms may apply. Fees are usually due in advance for the selected billing period. Taxes, currency conversion, payment provider fees or bank fees may apply depending on your location and payment method.

If a payment fails, is reversed, disputed or appears abusive, paid features may be restricted, suspended or terminated. We may recover costs caused by chargebacks, return debits or payment abuse where legally permitted.

11. Withdrawal, Cancellation and Refunds

Consumers may have statutory withdrawal rights depending on the purchase type and jurisdiction. Subscriptions can be cancelled according to the conditions shown during purchase or in account settings. Cancellation prevents future renewals but does not always create a refund for the current billing period.

Refunds may be granted where required by law or where expressly offered. Voluntary refunds may be denied or reduced if the Services were used to an unreasonable extent, if a high amount of public traffic or resource usage occurred, if the account violated these terms, or if the request is connected to abuse.

12. Account Closure, Data Export and Data Loss

You may stop using the Services and request account deletion where available. Before deletion, you should export content you want to keep. Account deletion can permanently remove bookmarks, folders, notes, public pages, aliases, settings, developer applications, analytics and related data.

We may retain limited information where required for legal compliance, billing, tax, accounting, security, fraud prevention, backup integrity, dispute handling or enforcement of these terms.

13. Service Changes, Maintenance and Availability

We may update, redesign, expand, reduce, suspend, replace or discontinue features where reasonable for product, technical, legal, security or operational reasons. We aim to notify users of significant changes where practical.

We strive for reliable availability but do not guarantee uninterrupted access. Outages can be caused by maintenance, deployments, hosting providers, DNS providers, email services, identity providers, payment providers, network issues, attacks, browser changes or user-side configuration.

14. Intellectual Property and License

The Services, software, user interface, documentation, names, logos, designs and platform content provided by us are protected by intellectual-property laws. You receive a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable and revocable right to use the Services according to these terms.

You retain rights in content you add. You grant us the rights necessary to host, store, process, transmit, display, publish, resize, cache, transform and secure your content as required to provide the Services and as controlled by your settings.

15. Third-Party Services and External Content

The Services may rely on or link to third-party services, including websites, identity providers, app stores, browsers, payment providers, email providers, analytics providers, hosting providers and DNS providers. Their own terms and policies may apply. We are not responsible for third-party services outside our control.

16. Security

You must not test, scan, attack, bypass or exploit the Services without written permission. If you discover a vulnerability, report it responsibly to support. We may take measures to protect users, data, infrastructure, deliverability and reputation, including temporary restrictions or forced session invalidation.

17. Liability and Warranty

We are liable without limitation for intent, gross negligence, injury to life, body or health, and where mandatory law requires liability. For slight negligence, we are liable only for breach of essential contractual obligations and limited to foreseeable, typical damage. Mandatory consumer rights remain unaffected.

We are not liable for user-generated content, external websites linked by users, third-party services, user-side technical issues, unavailable internet access, incorrect DNS settings, loss caused by misuse of credentials, or data loss unless liability is mandatory or caused by intent or gross negligence.

18. Suspension and Termination

We may suspend or terminate access for material breach, unlawful content, abuse, security risks, payment issues, legal obligations, repeated complaints, deliverability risk or operational necessity. We may also restrict individual features instead of terminating the full account where this is sufficient.

19. Governing Law and Disputes

German law applies, excluding conflict-of-law rules and the UN Convention on Contracts for the International Sale of Goods. Mandatory consumer-protection rules of your country of residence remain unaffected.
